Mutual Aid agreements are agreements with other agencies that we will assist them and they will assist us when they are requested or needed. Many of the requests that happen between departments are for manpower assistance or for special equipment. As an example, Luck Fire Department has what is called a "snorkel" unit which extends high into the air and sprays large amounts of fire. This unit works well on large building fires like barns.

The immediate mutual aid fire departments that Milltown has agreements with are:

Balsam Lake Fire Department

Centuria Fire Department

Cushing Fire Department

Luck Fire Department

St. Croix Falls Fire Department

Mutual Aid isn't limited to these departments. Any department can request any department for assistance with special equipment needs.

Milltown Fire Department also has mutual aid type agreements with the local ambulance services. Responding with these agencies works both ways. We respond with ambulances to provide emergency care prior to the ambulances arrival. We then help them get the patient ready for transport, and assist loading them into the ambulance. The ambulances also respond with the fire department on fire runs to provide care to fire fighters during the fire and also in case someone is injured during a fire call. Ambulances that Milltown Fire Department responds with are:

Cumberland Ambulance

Northland Municipal Ambulance (Luck)

St. Croix Valley EMS

Unity Area Ambulance (Milltown)
