Even though the name of the department is Milltown Fire Department, we aren't limited to just fires. As the home page says, we also respond to other calls. What's the difference between the calls that we respond to? Here is a brief description.

Fire calls: Fire calls are calls that are of course fires like structure fires, wild-land fires, vehicle fires, chimney fire and such. Fire calls are also considered gas leaks, downed power lines, or alarms.

Rescue Calls: Rescue calls are calls that require special equipment and/or tools and also involve medical treatment. A well known example of a rescue call would be a motor vehicle crash. These types of incidents require the use of the well known "Jaws of Life". There are three type of vehicle extrication tools: the cutter, a.k.a. Jaws of Life, the spreader, and the Ram. Each of these tools helps extricate or remove someone that is stuck in a vehicle. Another type of rescue call would be cold water rescue, the use of the Polaris Ranger to remove a fallen hunter from the woods,  or other incidents of this type.

First Responder Calls: First Responder calls are calls that are for medical treatment. Calls like chest pain, broken bones, and similar calls. First responder calls are the majority of the calls that the department responds.
