The Officers of the Department consist of the Fire Chief, Deputy Chief, 2 Assistant Chiefs, 2 Captains, a Secretary/Treasurer, and EMS Officer/Information Officer. Dan Olesen-ChiefDan is the current Fire Chief for the Department. He was elected as the Chief in 2006. Dan joined the department in 1982 and has worked up the ranks to be the Chief. Dan is a Certified Fire Fighter 2 and was also an EMT and an EMT-Intermediate for 15 years.
Ron is currently serving as the Deputy Chief of the Department. Ron was also elected in 2006 when the then Deputy Chief, Dan Olesen, was elected as Chief. Ron is a Fire Fighter 2 and also served as an EMT, EMT-Intermediate for many years. Ron also served as one of the Assistant Chiefs for many years until he was elected Deputy Chief. The Deputy Chief also serves as the Safety Officer at scenes to make sure that all members remain safe. He also serves as the Training Officer for the department.
Assistant Chiefs The Assistant Chiefs of the department oversee all operations of the department in the absence of the Chief or the Deputy Chief. The Assistant Chiefs also do scene management while on the scene of a call. They also train in the use of SCBA's, the operation of trucks and equipment, and many other tools of the department
Mike is one of the Assistant Chiefs of the department. Mike was elected as Assistant Chief years ago and has remained in the position for many years.
Chad is the other Assistant Chief of the department. Chad joined the fire department in 1997 and is a Certified Fire Fighter 2. Threw the years he has served as a Captain before being elected to the Assistant Chief position.
Captains The department has two Captains. Captains serve a two year term and are elected by the department. The job of the Captains is to do building entries, assist with building entries, check that the SCBA's are in properly working order and full of air.
Keith is one of the two Captains that the department currently has. Keith has served as a Captain for many years and is a Certified Fire Fighter 2 and an EMT-Intermediate. Keith also in charge of the Taco Feed every year and makes sure that it is a success.
Paul has served as a Captain of the department since 2006. Paul is a Certified Fire Fighter 2. Paul was elected to Captain after another member moved to Assistant Chief.
Secretary/Treasurer The Secretary/Treasurer of the department is in charge of taking notes during all meetings, making sure that all meetings are run in the proper manner, and also keeping track of money that is spent and brought in.
Virgil has been the secretary/treasurer for many years. Virgil is a Certified Fire Fighter I and also and EMT-Intermediate. Virgil also serves as the secretary/treasurer for the Milltown Fire Association which is the governing body for the Fire Department.
The EMS/Information officer has multiple duties within the department. The first duty is to ensure that all EMS supplies are available, ready to use, and not expired if they have expiration dates. They also serve as the triage officer on the scene of multiple victim incidents, and coordinate ambulances. The EMS/Information Officer also enters all information into the computer system to be sent to the state for reporting. All incident reports, inspection reports, EMS reports and occupancy reports are sent to the state.
Jason joined the department in August of 2000 and is the current EMS/Information Officer. He is a Certified Fire Fighter I, EMT-Intermediate, and also a Wisconsin Fire Inspector. He is one of the three Fire Inspectors on the department.
